What is your venture?
Bush Heritage Australia is committed to bringing Country back to good health. We work with others to manage and enhance millions of hectares of ecologically important land across Australia. We re-build nature’s resilience as a provider of habitats, fresh water, healthy soil, plant pollination, nutrients and carbon storage to sustain life into the future. We have 95 staff across Australia, over half of which are based in remote and regional locations.
What inspired your work?
Inspiration is easy to find when working with Bush Heritage. Bush Heritage as an organisation is supported by over 35,000 active donors from across the globe. These donors are inspiring, as through their generous donations to Bush Heritage we are able to make a difference for future generations.
Bush Heritage work was inspired by a small group of people in Tasmania 25 years ago (Dr Bob Brown included) – it’s amazing what people can do when they work together.
Aboriginal people, the Traditional Owners also inspire our work. We learn much about how to look after country from our partners.
What’s your focus for the next 3 months?
Our focus is on ensuring our team of people across the West remain well supported to do their important work safely and to the best of their ability. Also, that our partnership work with Traditional Owners continues to develop across all project areas.
