The Dream
Following a fire at the old Victoria Hotel and the acquisition of the property by a new development group, we formed a town team group to bring life to the vacant block, with RAC supporting the purchase of a container to store furniture, provide some artwork.
Subsequently, the development group designed a large container park concept and were granted RED’s funds to establish a semi permanent event space. -
Christmas on the Terrace
Even without any facilities, the space was popular for the annual Christmas on the Terrace event.
-
Install Begins
The creation of sea containers - getting the space ready for various uses commences
-
Stage Dome
A dome covered space has been created for a performance stage
-
Getting close to being finished
Not bad for an empty lot in the middle of the city, now it’s a great event space for the community to hold events and shows and local markets
-
Community Mural
Local Artist Shah Jackey designed and freehand spray painted this great mural design that includes local Flora and Fauna on to The Community Cargo. What a great backdrop for photos!
-
Launch Event
We invited the community along with an opening event to see the mural once it was completed. People decorated magnetic hexagons to stick onto the containers around the yard.
-
Creative Community
Everyone had a great time creating some designs for display on the Community Cargo.
-
Magnetic Designs
The designs will be used across the containers to add a new feature, we will continue to add to these each time we get the opportunity.
Make it stand out
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
